Foursquare 2010 Cask Strength Single Blended Rum is part of Foursquare’s Exceptional Cask Selection (ECS) range of Rums. The 2010 release is bottled at 60% ABV and is the 21st (XXI) release in the Exceptional Cask Selection series.

Foursquare Rum is produced by R L Seale, one of Barbados’ oldest trading houses, a family-owned business whose involvement in rum-making extends from father-to-son since 1820. The owner and talented head distiller, Richard Seale, is one of the region’s most innovative distillers and blenders and has a passion for producing perfect rum with great flavour. He also campaigns for for clarity in labelling of rums.

The Foursquare Distillery occupies the site of a former sugar factory that dates back to 1636 and, as one of the most modern and efficient rum distilleries in the world, is designed to be both highly energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Foursquare rum is made from locally owned and sourced sugar cane converted to molasses, fermented very slowly over 44 hours with South African yeast and then distilled. The rum is a blend of pot still and column still rums. The pot still rum brings complexity and flavour whilst the column still rum add balance and aroma.

2010 is a Single Blended Rum, in that it is a blend of heavy and light marques Rums distilled in the copper double retort pot-still, and the continuous twin column stills of Foursquare Distillery. Matured in Barbados for 12 years in ex-bourbon cask American white oak. Presented at 60% alcohol by volume, without chill-filtration, at its natural colour, and free from sweeteners and other flavourings.

Foursquare 2010 offers a complex and evolving sip. A rich intensity that is balanced in its delivery. Its approachability belying its presentation strength. A truly excellent Rum that you would want to return to time and again.
